About Me!
Delilah Jane Dunn is an actress, singer and dancer that has a developed a punk rock approach to the stage. They have brought a unique take to their roles of The Shadow in Vincent by Matt DeMaria at 54 Below and at New York Theatre Festival, Sandy in A Class Act New York’s SpongeBob Off-Broadway, and Genesis in The Death Of The Living Club staged reading, concert and cast album by Matt DeMaria, available on all music streaming platforms. The authenticity and grittiness that Dee brings to their roles is heavily informed by their love for punk rock music and culture. In addition to their roles in theatre, Delilah dedicates much of their time to going to dance class and voice lessons to be able to be the most well rounded performer they can be.
Delilah developed their love for performing at the age of 3. Starting out performing in dance recitals, they now have been performing for the past 15 years. Dee furthered their artistic journey in the mountains of North Carolina, Asheville. They worked with Asheville Performing Arts Academy for 7 years while living there and developed a unique awareness of the importance of working as an ensemble. They thank their instructors they had growing up for shaping them into the ensemble focused artist that they are today, with the deepest gratitude to Matthew Cord Scott, who in his time gave Dee a true sense of what it means to love theatre and continuously lit a fire under them to become a performer outside of their small town, just as he did. At 14, Delilah moved to NYC to further pursue theatre, attending Repertory Company High School For Theatre Arts in sophomore-junior year. Upon moving to NYC, they began their journey of self exploration and learned to embrace their out of the box thinking and quirkiness that they bring to the table in their work. This was done through a unique fashion sense that then translated to their love for modeling, makeup, and photography.
In the future, Dee plans on continuing to work in every facet of theatre and performing arts. They hope to continue film acting and making more films, like their project: Beetlejuice: The Unauthorized Musical Parody, which won Best High School Film at NJ Film Festival, has 40k+ views on YouTube and is recognized by the Beetlejuice musical cast and creative team. They dream and train to be able to star on broadway as an actor and dancer, as well as exploring the world of broadway producing and directing. Delilah had their first introduction to directing when they co-directed the Beetlejuice: Unauthorized Musical Parody. Delilah loves to explore performing outside of a musical theatre space too, and hopes of starting up their own punk rock band. Delilah wants to record their own music and to one day open up a performing arts center for people who want to explore all kinds of performing arts, like the one that they grew up training in. They want to create a space for middle and high school students to train and learn to foster those passions in the beautiful way that their instructors did for them.
